Event: Winter Storm Warning
Affected ICVAHCS Locations: Decorah
Event Start Time: 0100 Tuesday 3 Apr 2018
Anticipated Event End Time: 0400 Wednesday 4 Apr 2018
Situation: National Weather Service (NWS) has issues a winter storm warning for Southeast Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and West Central Wisconsin from 0100 Tuesday 3 April through Tuesday night. The NWS predicts significant snow and freezing drizzle with 4-6 inches accumulation. Winds gusting to 35 mph. will cause additional patchy drifting. Iowa City VA Healthcare System staff should review current road conditions (511ia.org) prior to getting on the road, and leave early to allow for additional time to get to your destination.

...Hazardous Travel Possible Late Tonight Through Tuesday...
.A complex storm system will impact the region late tonight
through Tuesday. Significant snow accumulations are possible,
ranging from 6 to 10 inches across southeast Minnesota into
west central and central Wisconsin and 4 to 6 inches across
portions of northeast Iowa. Some light freezing rain is also
possible for areas south of Interstate 90, which may result in a
light glaze of ice. North winds are expected to increase Tuesday
with gusts up to 30 mph west of the Mississippi River. These
winds may cause some patchy blowing and drifting snow. Travel
impacts are likely late tonight through Tuesday, including during
the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.

and New Hampton

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions,
including during the morning and evening commutes on Tuesday.
