VA uses web-based approach to reach UI Veterans and Military - The Iowa City VA Health Care System and the University of Iowa have collaborated on a project to improve Veteran’s access to VA mental health care and awareness of UI resources available to Veterans on campus. (10/09/2013)

VA Grant Going to Iowa Agency to Help End Veterans Homelessness - Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki announced the award of $717,986 in homeless prevention grant to the Iowa counties of: Linn, Johnson, Jones, Iowa, and Benton. The grants will serve approximately 252 homeless and at-risk Veteran families as part of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. This award will serve Veterans families associated with Hawkeye Area Community Action Program, Inc., one of 319 community agencies in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Iowa City VA Health Care System Offers E-Donate to Support Local Veterans - The Iowa City VA Health Care System (Iowa City VAHCS) announced the availability of E-Donate, an online donation option at www.iowacity.va.gov that will provide community members who wish to give back to Veterans at the medical center a simple and safe way to pledge their support to the fund of their choice.
