Stipend and Benefits

For the internship year 2008-2009, the total stipend will be $22,898.  State and federal income tax and FICA (Social Security) are withheld from interns' paychecks.  Interns are not covered by Civil Service retirement or leave and are not eligible for federal life insurance benefits.  The United States Government covers interns for malpractice under the Federal Tort Claims Act.
