Primary Care Psychology

Interns will have an opportunity to provide behavioral health consultation, evaluation, brief psychotherapeutic intervention and recommendations to a broad staff of medical providers with a wide array of patients in a setting different from the traditional specialty mental health clinic.  The intern will work with the Primary Care Psychologist and a Behavioral Health Team in addressing a variety of patient needs including PTSD, TBI, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, dementia, chronic pain, interpersonal problems, and treatment compliance.   The primary objectives of this rotation are to develop assessment, consultation, and brief treatment skills using a behavioral medicine approach to mental health needs in a general medical setting.
